Adult Social Care

Adult social care

Our vision is to deliver the best for the residents who use our services and support them to be as independent and healthy as possible. We work in partnership with residents, their families, and communities to find the right solutions.

There are many job opportunities to work in Adult Social Care across the council, supporting people with varying needs. Permanent, temporary, and flexible jobs are available in both direct care and supporting roles.

We care about how you work and what you achieve, rather than where you work on any given day. The difference you can make to our local communities is what matters most to us. We have carefully considered agile ways of working, to provide the best experience for residents, stakeholders, and our staff.

Our strategy actively supports and encourages a dynamic work environment and daily working experience. Agile working helps put the needs of our staff at the centre of everything we do, so if specific flexible working arrangements help you with this, feel free to let us know.

We recognise the importance of a good balance between work and home life so we do everything we can to accommodate flexible working. We also offer a generous holiday allowance and a wide range of learning and development opportunities.

Your wellbeing, and working in the way best suited to it, is and will remain one of our key priorities. We want you to thrive and feel empowered in your work.

Residential care

Our two residential homes are the Community Resource Centres located in Bath and Midsomer Norton.

These homes provide important services to older people in our community. We provide care and health services in a comfortable and safe environment for older vulnerable adults with a variety of disabilities including dementia. We work hard to offer individuals the opportunity to retain as much independence as possible and to enjoy their lives as fully as possible.

In addition to our Community Resource Centres, we also offer an Extra Care Service. Our Extra Care Service provides individual homes within a community setting, which promotes lifestyle choice, and offers individuals the opportunity and motivation to retain independence whilst staying in control of their lives.
