Children's social care
Children’s social care is a top priority for the whole council, and we are enjoying extensive political and corporate support as a result, including significant investment. We are now on a clear path to deliver outstanding outcomes for children and young people, and with pace.
Bath & North East Somerset is a place where you can engage with children, young people, and their families and form relationships that make a real difference. You can work with a wide range of needs, sometimes complex, and you can really grow your skills and practice. It is a place where you can influence what happens, and our social workers have been instrumental in helping us to develop our plans for how we wish to work. Their input, energy, and determination has been invaluable and will continue to be so. We are developing and embedding systemic, trauma-informed ways of working with families and children and pride ourselves on being a values-driven service, where you have the chance to do the job you came into the profession to do.
If you have a passion for social work, for making a difference, and for improving lives, then come and be part of our journey. We look forward to meeting you.
Mary Kearney-Knowles, Director of Children’s Services and Education
